Liz Abrams
Never choose between high design and the health of your family again. Woman owned and born from true need, IDC is the brainchild of Liz Abrams who has masterfully mixed her two great loves; Interior design and holistic wellness into an extraordinary combination that remains uniquely hers.
Her stunning blend of east meets west, technology meets tradition, and form meets function results in a harmony that goes much deeper than simply visual. It both inspires and calms, all while respecting the earth, fair labor practices worldwide, and supporting long held traditional means of fabrication.
IDC employs only highly skilled, local Los Angeles artisans with decades of experience. From the fabric to the foam, from the wood to the stains and adhesives, each of the elements used in fabrication have been personally researched and vetted for quality, sustainability, fair labor practices, and most of all for being certified non-toxic.
Liz expertly fuses luxury, sustainability, and high design into each piece she crafts, always with a close eye on health and harmony.
WHY IDC?
Did you know the EPA estimates that the average interior air quality is 2 to 5 times worse than the average indoor air quality? Most of us are acutely aware that what we put in our bodies effects our health. Garbage in, garbage out. However, many of us tend not to think of the other important thing we take into our bodies; the air we take into our lungs.
Chemicals are almost always added during the manufacture of the components in most furniture such as petroleum, formaldehyde, PFA’s, phthalates, PBDE’s, heavy metals, AZO dyes, industrial adhesives, fire retardants, stain blockers, antimony, bisphenol A, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) such as petroleum and alcohol, and PE’s and NPE’s, xylene, benzene, and even arsenic.
These chemicals can off gas for years, some forever. Recent studies have found fire retardant in household dust and women’s breastmilk. There have been documented cases of building sickness, which is sickness related directly to the construction of structures.
Your home should be a sanctuary for rest, relaxation, connection, inspiration, rejuvenation, and healing. However, modern construction and fabrication techniques seem to have forgotten this vital reality in favor of efficiency and cost.
With IDC the choice is clear; BEING HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF DESIGN.
